U POTRAZI ZA ALTERNATIVOM SVETSKOM PROJEKTU NEOLIBERALIZMA

Od početka 90-ih godina, ljudi u Srbiji, prvo zbog rata i embarga, a potom zbogneoliberalne i neokolonijalne politike privatizacije, doživljavaju neviđenu deindustrijalizaciju zemlje i uništavanje osnova egzistencije bezbroj radnika. Već 2007. godine, nakon čitavog talasa sukoba, borba zaposlenih farmaceutske fabrike „Jugoremedija“ u Zrenjaninu bila je jedna od retkih borbi koja se završila uspešno.Nakon zauzimanja fabrike i uvođenja samoupravljanja, predstavništvo zaposlenih je 2009. godine, tokom zaoštravanja privredne krize u čitavom svijetu, počelo da radi na stvaranju novog, nezavisnog radničkog pokreta. Jugoremedija je dio„Koordinacionog komiteta radničkog otpora u Srbiji“, kojem trenutno pripada i sedam drugih fabrika koje se djelimično nalaze u štrajku.

Tokom 2009. godine mnogi radnički kolektivi počeli su da se bore za svoja prava. Borba 1523 člana „Udruženja tekstilnih radnika Tekstilnog kombinata RAŠKA“ u Novom Pazaru sigurno je najpoznatija izvan granica zemlje. Nakon bezuspešnog štrajka (glađu) i akcije vlastitog osakaćivanja njihovog predsednika – odsekao je svoj mali prst – jedna od parola borbenih kolektiva glasi: „Pokrenuti Srbiju malim prstom“.
Šta radnike u bivšoj Jugoslaviji podstiče na tako drastične borbene mjere? Koje su njihove brige i nade na licu mjesta? Šta njima treba i kako i čime mi na Zapadu možemo solidarno da doprinesemo njihovoj
borbi – koja je takođe i naša? Ova i mnoga druga pitanja navela su nas da pozovemo Senadu Rebronju i Zorana Bulatovića, vodeće predstavnike „Udruženja tekstilnih radnika“ iz Novog Pazara, Branislava Markuša, predstavnika farmaceutske fabrike „Jugoremedija“ i aktiviste koordinacionog komiteta na ovaj niz manifestacija u njemačkom govornom području.

Zoran Bulatović: predsjednik „Udruženja tekstilnih
radnika Novog Pazara, Sjenice i Tutina“, 50 godina, od
1985. – 1993. bio zaposlen u Tekstilnom kombinatu
RAŠKA. Tokom jedne od radničkih borbi 2009. godine
odrezao svoj mali prst.
Senada Rebronja: zamjenica „Udruženja tekstilnih
radnika Novog Pazara, Sjenice i Tutina“. 46 godine,
samohrana majka tri djeteta. Radila 25 godina u kom-
binatu RAŠKA.
Branislav Markuš: radnik u farmaceutskoj fabrici
„Jugoromedija“ u Zrenjaninu (Vojvodina). Aktivista u
„Koordinacionom komitetu radničkog otpora u
Srbiji“.

1. About this Tuesday Night

After Thursday’s event with McKenzie Wark and while one of our apartments was being burglarized in Brooklyn, we had a chance to sit down with with Alexander and his friend Erin about what this Tuesday’s event could be about.

We had read about the SLUM-TV project and were open to create a forum that would allow for many dimensions of the project to be discussed.
Its link with
- art and political intervention
- colonial and post-colonial discourses
- collective media making and storytelling
- community based practices
- histories and modes of documentary and ethnography
- reality television
- questions of representation and redistribution
- art and activism.

In short, we wanted to think together about the problems and questions the project brings up. But from our meeting, we wanted to understand where Alexander was coming and the kind of discussion the work offered for him.

He described his work associated with several squats in Vienna, his\ disenchantment with certain aspects of that work and his activism. His turn toward different kind of experiments leading him to interventions in Belgrade and later to Nairobi. There is once again, a return to questions of efficacy and what one could name “ethicacy”. Questions also about something unnamed and unfulfilled in artistic and ‘political’ practice.

We have asked Alexander to also offer his own entry into this conversation. We look forward to seeing everyone.

Next Week, we’ll start a new workshop series with SLUM-TV. As i will be in Nairobi, i don’t know how often I will be able to update my blog, but I try to share here my impressions and thoughts.

Every year, we try to organise two international workshops, which shall improve the skills of our SLUM-TV members. This year we are proud to annuonce our cooperation with übermorgen.com and with Jaume Nualart. Hopefully from next year on, we’ll manage to open our workshops for a broader audience, till now, we’ll have few public presentations about the mentioned workshops, but in general they are meant for our Members.

All three of them have been deeply involved in the fight against Milosevic’s regime. Radojko Luković, got famous to the serbian public, as “the face of Serbia”, after he was beaten by friends of Milosevic’s son Marko.

Mile Veljkovic, who wrote for many national and international newspapers, worked as journalist for many international media agencies, was also involved in our workshop. Thanks to his support, our public seminar, will be held, in the TV Station IN TV, where he was editor in chief. Aleksandar Mitrović used to work with Mile, for the same TV Station.

We are left without words, and can’t realize that Mile won’t be with us.
